Take That, Lethargy!

After five years of going to walk-in clinics, I decided that it was about time to get a family doctor. Also, I really messed up my lower back a couple weeks ago and it hurts super bad.
During the first visit appointment, the doctor was interviewing me about my personal and family medical history, what kinds of drugs I was on, what invasive surgeries I've had, etc, and the question came to, "How would you rate your level of physical activity?"
"Uhhhhhmmmmm, probably not very active," I told her sheepishly. "But I stopped waitressing for the first time in a while back in the fall, and it was my primary means of exercise, and I've been having difficulty finding physical activity that I enjoy, and there are no gyms in my neighbourhood except a boxing club and a yoga centre, and I got really sick about a month ago, and I've been really really busy with school, and I hurt my back two weeks ago and can't move, but when I get better I swear I'm going to walk more and play baseball and maybe even do yoga!" Yeeesh.
So I got referred to a chiropractor, and it turns out that several of the vertebrae in my lower back have rotated. Also, I have a reverse curvature of the spine in my neck, what? The guy put some electrodes on my back and crunched things around and—hot damn—did it ever feel awesome. Now I have to sleep with one of those orthopaedic pillows (which is sexy).
And now you know.
Anyways, with my back in working order and a guilty lazy conscience, I decided to spend Saturday walking. Did I ever. Pete and I calculated it on the Gmaps Pedometer, and I walked 13 kilometres today. I'm tired! But it feels good. I look forward to a summer of 5k+ walks per day.
