Getting Down in the O-Town

Believe it or not, this is the first time I stood on Parliament Hill*. Though I've been to Wat Pho four times, the Great Wall three times, and the Jungfrau twice, I have never been to our nation's capital. It's a little embarrassing.
I was in Ottawa for my cousin Bill's wedding (which was lovely), and although I did not manage to get any good photos of the ceremony or reception, I got a few fun tourist shots. Check 'em out behind the cut.
After a quick stop at Parliament Hill, Pete and I made our way over to the National Gallery across the canal. A pause for reflection revealed a lovely view of the buildings...

...and a soiled pair of underwear off the side of the road. Stay classy, Ottawa.

We had a few hours to kill on Saturday afternoon between the ceremony and the dinner, so the fam went down to the Byward Market for a drink. I bought two pints of fiddleheads, so that was pretty awesome. Also, fresh cheese curds.

One thing you can guarantee is that if a low-flying plane passes overhead, Pete will stop everything and watch it drive by. He will not listen to you or answer any questions about the plane's make until it is out of sight. It's like he becomes a statue or something.

Finally, here is Pete at the Museum of Civilization, in front of some kind of whaling hut. The Museum of Civilization is really crazy, but I'll get into that some other time.
THE END.
*not counting a visit when I was very young that I don't remember.

Peter looks troublingly respectable in a suit. I am highly suspicious of this.
