Internship at the Post

My first article for the National Post is up on The Ampersand and should be in tomorrow's print edition. I'm embarrassed to say that I wasn't really sure who Robert Plant was until I got the assignment, but I think that's probably a generational thing.

I have been assigned a few other stories that are more up my alley: drinking cocktails, public washrooms, rental cars, and Miley Cyrus' brother. Stay tuned!

I haven't said congrats yet.

Congrats!

Getting published is always pretty exciting, but getting published in a major daily for the first time has got to be really, really exciting. You are like, officially, a professional journalist now.

So if you ever want to quit being an under-payed grad student, you can now fall back on being an under-payed journalist! Yeah!

You didn't know who Robert Plant was?

Maybe its just because I grew up with a dad who was big into the 70's and reticent to talk about his pot-smoking and growing ways when he was younger, but I assumed that everyone knew of Led Zeppelin, or had at least heard Zeppelin IV once. If not on vinyl, then at least in digital form.

I'm a vinyl snob - its sad...but generational...

Good luck with the Post, and writing for the enemy. You'll have to tell us what its like deep behind enemy lines...I hear they eat Jewish babies there....
