National Post Week 1 Wrap Up

2008_07_19KatyPerry

Tonight, I'm going to go hang out at a Mississauga Denny's and have Katy Perry and some other Warped Tour performers serve me an All-American Slam. Seriously. It's for the Denny's All Nighter series.

So I'm one week through my three week internship at the National Post and things are going pretty well. An article I wrote about the Yorkdale Mall washrooms should be in today's Toronto Magazine, so yay. This whole "real journalist" thing is pretty cool and definitely is giving the whole "real grad student" thing a run for its money.

Here are some articles I wrote for The Ampersand and The Appetizer this week:

Roland Kickinger: the new face of Terminator
KFC now serving 'unchicken'
Yusuf Islam wins libel damages over veil controversy
Izzy Stevens to kick the bucket on Grey's Anatomy?
Just like Brian Wilson did: Steven Page runs into trouble with cocaine
Robert Plant hits snooze bar on Led Zeppelin reunion tour

Katy Perry is probably the only thing that could ever get me in a Denny's again. Especially a Mississauga Denny's.

Katy Perry kissed a girl and she liked it, okay? Jesus, do I have to draw you a diagram?

Kate Perry is at Warped Tour? Didn't that used to be for punk bands and whatever passes for punk bands these days?

And does anybody feel a bit like the hayday of girls kissing each other to get attention from guys has passed? When I heard this song I thought it was very five years ago. But maybe I am jaded and don't get invited to those kinds of parties anymore. Wah.
