Shad – The Old Prince Still Lives At Home

London, Ontario-based emcee Shad remakes the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air opening sequence in his video for “The Old Prince Still Lives at Home”.
This video is the best thing that has ever happened. The song is pretty good too.
Hat tip to Torontoist.

Blogs That Rock: OMG KITTY!!!!

It’s sort of embarrassing that one of my favourite blogs—a staple on my Google Reader—is a photoblog about a cat named Katamari. But seriously, look at her:

And you’d think looking at pictures of one cat in one apartment would get boring, but it doesn’t! In the world of Katamari, there seem to be infinite things [...]

Who is Brisa Roché?

After some stealthy google-fu and amateur translating skills, the answers to these questions seem quite simple.
Brisa Roché is a San Francisco-born, Paris-based singer who is big in the alterna-jazz rock [...]

I was brainwashed by a gypsy psychic!

Not me, personally: victims on GypsyPsychicScams.com.
Okay, paying $10 or $20 to see a psychic with your friends is one thing—you’re paying for entertainment and a little self-verification. But giving someone $40,000 to remove your “negative energy” is another. Obviously these people are being brainwashed but I cannot help thinking, what a bunch of idiots!
Check out [...]

R.I.P. Arts Funding, we hardly knew ye

The Canadian arts community, myself included, is up in arms over recent cuts to arts funding by the Conservative government and this utterly ridiculous opinions article in the National Post.
PromArt, a $4.7-million program that provides travel grants to artists for promoting Canadian culture abroad, has been the most contentious program cut. According to Kory Teneycke, [...]

Terroni to customers: “No cheese for you!”

This month’s issue of Toronto Life has only been out for a few days, and yet everyone is talking about an article on Terroni, a fashionable pizza joint with multiple locations in the city.
The problem? Terroni has a “no modifications, no substitutions, no reservations” policy in order to ensure efficiency in the kitchen and front [...]
