Artifacts, Specimen, and Ephemera salvaged from the Wonderlands
Livejournal user absinthetic made his girlfriend this stellar Wonderland Expedition Kit for her birthday.
When Alice fell through the rabbit hole, she tore a rift between our two universes. Through this open rift, "nonsense" began leaking out of Wonderland. With a decreasing amount of nonsense, Wonderland became a more logical place, and since vanishing cats and singing flowers cannot exist in a logical universe, Wonderland began to die.Professor Jonathan Lake, of Miskatonic University, traveled to Wonderland in attempt to catalog and archive the remaining flora and fauna so that Wonderland would not disappear into the forgotten depths of history. This is his collection of specimens, artifacts, and ephemera salvaged from the Wonderlands.
Absinthetic admits to "being inspired" by Alex CF, who calls himself "a professional cryptozoological pseudo-scientific assemblage artist and illustrator." Check out his wicked research cases. Also, here is an interview.
Oh Steampunk, you are so hot right now. No really, though, this guy combines art, craft, and curation in ways that make me glad to be in the biz. Alex CF says he's looking for representation at a gallery right now, so maybe someone should get on that.
