Bus Heroes Kick Ass, Take Names
Thanks to Torontoist for the heads up on an assault that took place on the TTC yesterday near Jane and Finch. A bus driver was attacked by a hammer-wielding woman who was apparently pissed off that the driver had not stopped to pick her up at a previous date. Thankfully, two SUPERWOMEN were on the bus to help out! Posted has a stellar interview with the heroes—Irena Fodorova, 42, and her daughter, Kamila Kudlackova, 23—that illustrates the scene:
“She took the hammer out from the purse and she started hammering the driver. I think it was around [the driver’s] shoulders and chest. [After the attack,] she was bleeding from her fingernails so I guess she had covered her face,” she said. A young man, she said, tried to help the driver, but somewhat ineffectually. And then Ms. Kudlackova decided to get involved. “I was like, hey, an opportunity to help out,” she said. Ms. Kudlackova dashed forward, in heels, and grabbed the woman’s head.
The best quote?
Ms. Fodorova said she felt no fear when she ran forward to help.
“I’m pretty muscular and just my voice and my attitude can intimidate people like this because they’re cowards,” she said. “They’re cowards and I’m not afraid of them.”
And what quick thinking!
Ms. Fodorova grabbed the woman’s purse — getting scratched in the process — and helped push the assailant off the bus and close the door.
She held on to the purse to get the assailant’s ID and to keep her on the scene until police arrived.
Miss Fodorova, Miss Kudlackova: if I gave out daily awards for ass-kicking, you would win.
