Pete is good at what he does

I usually only publicly discuss Pete’s awesomeness in terms of how it directly affects me, eg. “Pete’s the best; he made me soup!” or “Pete is really good at helping me decide what to wear when we go out.” But I think it’s due time that I officially recognized some of Pete’s recent professional achievements on SiWP.
Pete is a web developer, and a pretty talented one at that! Last week, a project that he was Lead Developer on won an Applied Arts Interactive award in the Social Networking category. It’s a site called Get Involved which helps not-for-profit organizations connect with volunteers, and it has a tie-in television segment on TVO. Pete’s development team dubbed him the “Genius“.
Probably the slickest and most badass thing Pete has been working on launched just this week: “Endless Media“, the new search feature at Masterfile, a stock images company. Seriously, you need to check this out; I’ve been watching him put together for the last year and a half, and even I’m like, “Shit, this is so slick!” I’m sure it will win some awards too.
Pete has also been working with his uncle to develop an interactive digital archive of his great-grandfather’s letters from the First World War. The letters are presented alongside battalion reports, maps, photos, videos and notes about the social and cultural history of the time. That site launched on Remembrance Day at a legion hall near the waterfront, and it was very moving!
And that is approximately 1.5 years of work summarized into three paragraphs. In conclusion, Pete is good at his job and still finds time to make me soup. Just thought you should know.

It’s alright, I suppose. But I searched for “polar bear on fire” and nothing came up! Not even a smoldering cub. Maybe you could fix that in the next release?
