Intercultural Dialogue: Italy, UR doing it wrong

This is a photo I took in August 2004 when I was doing a study abroad program in Italy. It’s the basilica of San Michele in Foro in Lucca, a small town in northern Tuscany.
I was upset to hear that, this week, Lucca banned any new foreign and “ethnic” food outlets within the city walls. [...]

Make-up Endorsements

I cleaned out my make-up drawer today and ditched a bunch of stuff that I don’t use anymore. I decided to take this opportunity to give a shout out to my fave face paints.

Pete: “Someday, the arts will be able to stop spending all its time justifying itself and be able to concentrate on actual arts.” I kind of want to get it printed on a [...]

Toad in a Hole

V for Vendetta was an amazing movie anyway, but I will forever be thankful for it introducing me to Toad in a Hole, aka. Egg in a Nest/Egg in a Basket.
What did I ever do without you, bread with an egg in the middle?

Another year at the Toronto Boat Show

Creepy Pete will drive you down the river…the River Styx!!!!!!”
I come from a boat family. Thus, I usually make it out to the Toronto International Boat Show every year, albeit reluctantly. My favourite part is the non-boat retail, the snack foods, and looking at all the souped-up kayaks and paddle boats.
If this interests you at [...]
