say it with pie

I cleaned out my make-up drawer today and ditched a bunch of stuff that I don’t use anymore. I decided to take this opportunity to give a shout out to my fave face paints.

1. I’m not totally sure why this one made it in. It’s CoverGirl Outlast Double LipShine; I only wore it once, but holy shit did it ever deliver on the long-lastingness. I couldn’t get it off for a week. Effective!

2. Prescriptives lip pencil.

3. I bought this kohl eyeliner in Jordan at the recommendation of another archaeologist. I think it’s basically, like, charred scorpions ground up and suspended in wax. It’s the only eyeliner you can put on the inside of your lids that will stay on. You can probably find it in Canada, but it was only 50 cents in Jordan.

4. Laura Mercier brown eye pencil.

5. I fill my eyebrows with this MAC shadow sometimes.

6. Yves St. Laurent Touche Eclat. Oh my god, this is the most extravagantly awesome piece of make up I own and I only have it because my mom gave it to me. They’re like $50 a pen, so I only use it on special occasions. If you ever, I don’t know, find one of these in a bathroom or marry a millionaire, use it!!

7. Lancome Virtuose mascara in Black and Black Carat (gold sparkles). THE BEST. My eyelashes totally suck and this stuff makes them so lush and lashy. They’re also sort of expensive so I buy them in bulk at duty free when I travel—or beg my mom to get them for me when she travels.

8. Prescriptives lip gloss.

9. Prescriptives lip stick. I think I’m suppose to stack this with the gloss.

10. Bobbi Brown eyeliner gel. This was another duty-free buy on Air Canada. It is easy, durable, and highly recommended!

11. Translucent powder. Women are supposed to have this for some reason.

12. Eyelash curler. Women are supposed to have this for some reason.

13. Random MAC eye shadows, two of which are doubles because I have a bad memory and reeeeally like the idea of purple-y gold eyeshadow.

14. Custom eye shadow palette from Prescriptives. The peachy-gold in the top right is my favourite base eye shadow ever.

15. Prescriptives blush compact. It is the shizzle!

16. Prescriptives mineral make-up. Switching to mineral make-up was pretty much the best thing I ever did. It feels incredibly light on your face and it lasts all day without budging.

17. Urban Decay blush/highlighter. It’s so blushy that it should only be used for special occasions.

18. MAC lipsticks. I never wear lipstick, but when I do these work pretty well.

19. Prescriptives Moonbeam eye colours. Generously handed down from my mom after they made her eyes sting. But they don’t make my eyes sting and they are awesome!

20. Eye shadow palette from Urban Decay. Smog (in the lower-left corner) is my favourite lid eye shadow ever.
