Seasonal Eating

The other night, I made a autumn-inspired feast: mustard-rubbed turkey breast served over portabellini mushroom and sage stuffing, accompanied by a fennel, beet and orange salad drizzled with balsamic. It was delish! The fennel, beet and orange salad was especially delish as leftovers a couple of days later when the fennel had gone pickle-y and [...]

I don’t know why I bother answering my door anymore

Allow me to set the scene.
It’s 3:30 pm on a Sunday. I am fresh from the shower, putting on my clean “daytime pyjamas”, and the doorbell rings. I usually don’t even bother answering my doorbell; it’s always either Greenpeace, Mormons, or Nader. Nader is my only friend who comes over without phoning first, and I’m [...]

Garlic bread
Chicken ball?

We arrived on Wednesday, my birthday, and checked into the [...]

Dragonette – Fixin’ to Thrill

Every child wishes they had a cool drunken aunt like Martina Sorbara.
Dragonette’s latest album Fixin’ to Thrill dropped last week and it is hella good. If you like slick electro/synth pop artists like Robyn, Ladyhawke and Lady Gaga, you will like this. Recommended for: putting make-up on, underwear dance parties, folding laundry, making oatmeal cookies.

Nuit Blanche 2009

Photos are up on Flickr!
I had a blast at Nuit Blanche this year! Me and Pete managed to stay out until 4:00 am, which I think is pretty respectable.
We spent most of our time in Zone B, the financial district, which was curated by my prof, Jennifer Fisher, and her partner Jim Drobnick who [...]
